Witness the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra's process from rehearsal to performance in this unique event featuring music of raw power and emotion. The ensemble will first rehearse and then perform two short works under the direction of Music Director Geoffrey Larson. The event will be filmed for a later video production. Two short intermissions are included.

Ticket reservations are free. Although not required, reservations are recommended in order to ensure capacity. Audience members can enter free of charge or add a donation of their choice at the door, with all payment methods accepted.

Recognized as one of Italian opera's greatest curtain-risers of all time, this overture features the full orchestra in its largest configuration and is packed with unforgettable drama, melody, and virtuosity.

Carlos Simon: Elegy: A Cry From the Grave
A 21st-century masterpiece that searches for hope and healing among the depths of violence, oppression, and injustice, Simon’s Elegy for strings is dedicated to Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, and Alton Sterling.
